Actor-filmmaker Raghava Lawrence starrer horror-comedy Kanchana 3, the third part in the highly successful Muni franchise, will feature Oviya, Vedhika and newbie Nikita as the leading ladies, a source said.

"The film features three heroines. Oviya, Vedhika and a new girl called Nikita have been signed. The project goes on the floors from the last week of October," a source from the film's unit told IANS.

Vedhika, who starred in the first part of the franchise, returns with this project.

The first part in the Muni franchise released in 2007. The second part was called Muni 2: Kanchana and third, which released in 2015, was titled Kanchana 2.

"It will be a sequel to Kanchana 2. It will star Lawrence in the lead and he will direct it as well. The rest of the cast and crew are yet to be finalised. Sun Pictures will produce the film," the source added.

Lawrence's last two releases Motta Siva Ketta Siva and Sivalinga turned out to be duds. He hopes to bounce back with Kanchana 3.
