KASARGOD: K Vishwambharan, a first year postgraduate student of education at the Central University of Kerala (CUK), died after he slipped inside the hostel bathroom on the university’s Periye campus on Monday.

Vishwambharan, 30, a resident of Thayannor near Kanhangad, sustained grievous head injuries in the accident.

The incident was noticed around 6.45 am by his hostel mate.

The student, said to be suffering from migraine, was found unconscious inside the bathroom.

Vishwambharan was rushed to the district hospital in Kanhangad. However, he could not be saved, said U T Vipin, Sub-Inspector of Police, Bekal station.

The body was shifted to the Pariyaram Medical College for autopsy.

The preliminary report had suggested that he had died of internal head injuries, the officer said.
