KOTTAYAM: Former home minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan has said that the allegations against him that he used his influence to save former chief minister Oommen Chandy in the ‘solar scam’ is baseless.

Talking at a press conference, he alleged that the LDF government is conspiring against him, and added that it is only natural that all ministers would be loyal to the CM.

“I did what only a minister is expected to do to a chief minister. I don’t look at the action by the government as anything childish. You have to bear a lot when you’re in politics. Anyone with a conscience would not use this politically,” he said.

Referencing to V T Balram MLA’s earlier comment on T P Chandrasekharan murder case, he said that there has been no compromise met as far as he’s aware of.

“Whoever who says there has been any compromise will have to explain that. The TP case was investigated by prominent officers like Vincent M Paul. The court was proven in court and the culprits were given punishment also. I do not have any further evidence in connection with the TP case. The government adopted the right measures in that case,” he said.

He also added that it’s the investigation team that has to say whether there were other accused involved in the TP case other than CPM regional leader P K Kunjananthan.
