KOCHI: A court on Thursday gave the nod for filing a case against Poonjar MLA P C  George for allegedly humiliating the actress attacked in Kochi. The verdict comes from Kozhikode  Kundamangalam Judicial First Class Magistrate court. The order was given in response to the complaint filed by social activist Gireesh Babu.

In the petition, it was alleged that George had named the actress during his talk to a private TV channel. As per law, the name of a victim of rape or abuse should not be disclosed. He also talked so as to demean her.

Earlier, though Gireesh Babu had complained to the police in this regard, no action was taken following which, he approached the court.
