MELBOURNE: One usually prefers to propose his girlfriend in a closed-affair, but Australian Football League (AFL) star Callan Ward decided to go all Hollywood as he popped the question to her long-time love Ruby Keddy in front of dozens of moviegoers.

The 27-year-old pulled off a very public proposal for his lady love of six years as he went down on one knee in a jam-packed cinema hall in Melbourne to pop the question -- and she said yes.

According to news.com.au, Ward opted for a packed historic Sun Theatre in Yarraville after his girlfriend Keddy apparently wanted a public proposal.

Following the proposal, the Greater Western Sydney Giants player posted a photo of him and Keddy on Instagram and wrote, "HAPPIEST. MAN. ALIVE. She said yes!!!!"

Later, Keddy posted the same photo and expressed mutual feelings of happiness, captioning, "12 years ago I met the man of my dreams, 6 years ago he asked me to be his girlfriend, and today at 6:45pm he asked me to marry him! #isaidyes."
