Actress Divya Unni has made a shocking revelation about a Malayalam film director she has had to work with. She alleged that she was called to a hotel with an offer to act in a film. “There the director asked me to bed with him, if I wanted a role in his film,” she told a national media in an interview.

Divya Unni raised this allegation against an award-winning actor on Monday. She was not willing to reveal his name though. The incident happened two years ago, according to her.

In the Hindi remake of Rajesh Pillai’s Malayalam film Traffic, Divya appeared as the wife of Manoj Bajpayee. A Mumbai Malayali, Divya has not acted in many films. Her dream was to reach Malayalam cinema through the film of this particular award-winning director. Thus she landed in this God’s Own Country with woodless of expectations.

“I have heard that certain directors used to demand sexual favours from actresses after calling them to hotels. Even then I was not afraid since the above director was a well-known person. I went to meet him with a lot of optimism though it was 9 in the night. But without any bit of shame, he invited me to his bed, but not without a piece of advice: In the history of Malayalam cinema no actress has met with success without sharing bed with directors and producers,” Diya recounted.
