ALAPPUZHA: The NCP has said that Transport Minister Thomas Chandy’s resignation is essential. It’s the same public opinion that was raised in the NCP executive meeting that convened on Tuesday.

The NCP leaders also demanded that the LDF be fair to them.

The NCP sate leadership has sought the permission of the national leadership for the minister’s resignation. This sudden change in opinion is at a time when the leadership meeting was about to be convened.

Meanwhile NCP national leader Praful Patel had opined today morning that Thomas Chandy need not resign immediately. Earlier the NCP state leadership too had expressed their support for the minister.

Earlier today morning NCP state president T P Peethambaran Master had said in Kochi that the party is not in the defensive with regards to the issue of Thomas Chandy’s resignation.
