NEW DELHI: There is a dire need to bring in lifestyle and environment changes to fight the increasing pollution levels in Delhi-NCR. With the government adopting schemes such as 'Odd-Even', the pollution levels might reduce, but what happens after the initial five to ten days of respite?

In such a scenario, it becomes important that one changes their choice of conveyance in the long run. By opting for electric vehicles, which run on renewable energy and batteries and hence, emit fewer fumes as compared to their gas-guzzling counterparts, one can do their bit to save the environment.

Surveys also state that electric vehicles can reduce the detrimental effects of air pollution by almost 70 per cent. Moreover, electrification of the transportation ecosystem in the country is the proverbial next big thing in the automobile sector.

Given below is a list of select alternatives, which one can opt for while commuting, and do their bit to reduce the alarming pollution levels:

1. SmartE

SmartE is one of the largest shared electric mobility services that is working towards changing the first and last mile connectivity paradigm in India. The platform has served over 6 million 'zero-pollution' rides over the last 18 months.

Moreover, as a pioneer in the electric mobility service space, SmartE is committed to realizing the vision of making India a 100 per cent electric vehicle nation by 2030. It also aims to be the world's largest electric transport system, offering 4 billion rides globally every year.

2. Okinawa

Okinawa Autotech Pvt. Ltd. is an Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturing company that was established with a mission to create two-wheelers for a healthy and sustainable future.

As an ambitious player of India's evolving E-mobility market, Okinawa wishes to set the benchmark for affordable eco-friendly technology.

3. Rays Future Energy

Rays Future Energy is a new arm of Rays Power Infra (P) Ltd. and has been created to extend and promote the concept of renewable energy directly to customers.

Offering the users customized solutions at their doorstep, with unmatched ease-of-use and minimal after-sales maintenance, Rays encompasses affordable solutions which shall be deriving power through alternative and renewable modes of energy rather than the use of old conventional resources like fossil fuels. They also focus on distributed solar generation including rooftop solutions, energy storage, E- vehicle and associated infrastructure and solar energy based products.

4. Trak N Tell

The Trak N Tell platform provides a sophisticated vehicle telematics solution and ensures better safety and threat elimination for both the passengers and their vehicle. The company's USP lies in its functionality, viz. a GPS-based unit that can recognize the structural dynamics of a vehicle and adapt itself to panic and threat-based situations enabling prompt actions.

By bringing in features like impact alert calling, real-time tracking, panic button and over-speeding alerts, Trak N Tell focuses on not just making cars securer but also roads safer by promoting responsible driving.
