THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Transport Minister Thomas Chandy is gearing up to approach the Supreme Court, in the wake of the high court cancelling his petition. The petition was the one that had sought withdrawal of Alappuzha district collector’s report against him in the backwater encroachment case.

For this he is likely to leave for Delhi on Tuesday itself. He may file a petition in the court, seeking to cancel the high court order.
The high court had cancelled Chandy’s petition, stating that a minister won’t be able to approach the court against the government for personal needs. “If there are lapses in the Collector’s report, Chandy can approach the collector. The collector should give a hearing to the minister within 15 days, “Justice Raveendran had said.

However, in Raveendran’s observations, there was no remark against Thomas Chandy.
