THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Administrative Reforms Commission Chairman V S Achuthanandan has said that those who are very rich will try to justify their land encroachments. Now it has become a usual practice to encroach public lands.

VS was speaking at the Jawaharlal Nehru birth anniversary celebration held by Nehru Peace Foundation at Macot hotel.
Achuthanandan also took the opportunity to criticise the Central government’s pro-Corporate policy, GST and Aadhar linkages.

VS was all praise for Jawaharlal Nehru. “The children’s day is something that grown-ups should also celebrate. He was the leader who had upheld socialist values. Nehru pitted scientific socialism against capitalism. However his successors moved away from his path. They opened the country’s doors to liberalisation and exploitation of empires. Neo-liberalisation is swallowing the country,” he said.
