THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Differences of opinion intensify in the LDF over the resignation of Minister Thomas Chandy in connection with the land encroachment issue. The CPI ministers are staying away from the cabinet meet convened today. CPI Ministers E Chandrasekharan, V S Sunil Kumar, K Raju and P Thilothaman are convening a meet at the revenue minister’s office. The ministers said they cannot sit along with the tainted minister at the cabinet meet.

Meantime, Minister Thomas Chandy is attending today’s cabinet meet. Chandy came to the Secretariat after calling on the chief minister at the Cliff House. The NCP, Chandy’s own party, has given him all support and not only that the NCP leadership is of the stand that he need not resign now.
